Deborah’s noteworthy accomplishments include:
• 2002 After only studying oil painting for two years, Deborah had one of her pieces accepted into the Oil Painters of America 11th Juried Art Show, and one piece accepted into the Salmagundi Art Club for their 25th Annual Juried Exhibition for Nonmembers.
• 2002 Deborah was represented by her first gallery, Landmark Gallery (formerly Jackson-Kirkland Fine Art).
• 2005 Four of Deborah’s paintings were displayed in the Las Campanas home that subsequently won the Annual Santa Fe Grand Hacienda Parade of Homes Award. A photograph of one of the paintings titled “Bobcat Bite” is on display at that famous eating spot.
• 2005 Deborah’s work has been represented by Patrician Design in Albuquerque, NM. Patrician Design has displayed Deborah's work at group shows hosted to benefit Casa Esperanza and the New Mexico Humane Society. In addition, Patrician Design has shown Deborah’s work in other venues, such as the Art Scrawl, and the kick-off for the Road Runner rail system connecting Albuquerque to Santa Fe. Patrician Design has advertised and displayed digital images of Deborah’s work in the Collector’s Guide 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009. Each year beginning in 2010, Deborah was a featured artist during the Patrician Design Sidewalk Series.
• 2005 Since this year, Deborah’s oil paintings have been accepted at the Encantada juried art show held annually by The Rio Grande Art Association in Albuquerque.
• 2006 One of Deborah’s paintings titled “Garlic Large and Small” was shown at the 2006 International Small Works Exhibition held at Red Dot Fine Art located on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
• 2006 Deborah’s oil paintings were represented by Tucker Woods Fine Art, located on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
• 2006 Deborah’s painting titled “Late Summer Flowers” was sold at auction during the Quick Draw/Art Roundup benefitting the Taos Center for the Arts.
• 2007 to 2011 (until they went out of business) Posters of Santa Fe, located on the historic Plaza, displayed for sale prints and cards of Deborah’s original oil paintings.
• 2007 Deborah’s painting titled “Rebirth of Old 92” was shown in the Broken and Repaired juried art show held at the Rift Gallery in Rinconada, New Mexico.
• 2007 Since this year, El Rancho de las Golondrinas has displayed for sale cards of Deborah’s original oil paintings of this historic site.
• 2008 (and 2006) Deborah’s work was displayed at the Faces of Women juried art show hosted by the Las Vegas Arts Council (LVAC). Her painting titled “Carol at the Palace of Governors” was featured on the 2008 LVAC post card mailings and the cover of their newspaper advertising that show. Deborah’s painting of her daughter Leah titled “Princess Leah” won Honorable Mention at the 2008 show.
• 2008 (and 2006) Deborah’s paintings were shown at the 17th (and 15th) Annual National Art Exhibition sponsored by The Artist Association of Northern Colorado. Deborah’s painting titled “Talaya’s Cat” was awarded Honorable Mention.
• 2008 Deborah’s oil painting titled “Stream Crossing” was accepted into the Master Works of New Mexico juried art show in Albuquerque.
• 2008 Since this year, a print of Deborah’s oil painting titled “Doc” has been displayed at the Plaza Bakery on San Francisco Street in Santa Fe.
• 2008-2009 Deborah’s painting titled “Doc” appeared on the cover of the Temple Beth Shalom Calendar as best representing the theme: Santa Fe Different, Diverse and Delicious. The Temple’s 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 calendars also displayed Deborah’s work.
• 2009 Deborah’s painting titled “Twilight Moon” was chosen for a poster to advertise the juried art show “Impressionism in New Mexico” sponsored by the Art Center at Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos. Deborah’s painting “Tae’s Glass Bowl II” was accepted into the juried art show “Still Life Revisited” also sponsored by the Art Center at Fuller Lodge.
• 2009 Deborah's painting “Self Portrait” was accepted into the New Mexico Art League’s 80th Anniversary Fine Art Show, in Albuquerque. Deborah's painting along with paintings by three other artists, was featured on the NMAL post card and website to advertise the show.
• 2009 Deborah’s painting “ Eucalyptus and Red Onions” was accepted into the Oil Painters of America’s 2009 “Western Regional Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils” held at the Howard/Mandville Gallery in Kirkland, Washington.
• 2010 Deborah was accepted into two juried art shows hosted by the Jenny Coolie Gallery, 826 Canyon Road, Santa Fe: Deborah’s painting titled, “Boo: Ghosts of Christmas Past” was in the Christmas juried art show. Her painting titled “Safe Sox” was shown in the “Hot Monkey Love” show, which can be viewed on YouTube.
• 2010 Deborah was a featured artist in Patrician Design’s “Sidewalk Series”, where she demonstrated oil painting, and displayed her miniature landscape, still life oil paintings, and cards of her original oil paintings.
• 2010 Deborah participated in an art show and sale hosted by Temple Beth Shalom in Santa Fe.
• 2010 Two of Deborah’s paintings were accepted into the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico juried art show, titled “Spirit of the Place”, shown at the Millicent Rogers Museum, Taos, NM.
• 2010 Deborah participated in one juried art show and one gift shop Holiday sale hosted by the Northern New Mexico Regional Art Center, located on the Plaza de Espanola, New Mexico.
• 2011 Deborah’s oil painting titled “Autumn Ascending” was accepted into the juried art show Outside In at the Fuller Lodge Art Center, in Los Alamos, NM. The Los Alamos Monitor (on Thursday, February 24 2011) used her painting "Autumn Ascending" to illustrate the article promoting the show.
• 2011 One of Deborah’s paintings, titled “Plantasia” was accepted into the 20th National Exhibition and Sale, hosted by the Art Association of Northern Colorado, held at the Midtown Arts Center in Fort Collins, Colorado.
• 2011 Pizzeria Espiritu displayed sixteen of Deborah’s oil paintings in a one-person show, at this Santa Fe restaurant.
• 2011 Deborah was the featured artist at Patrician Design’s (Saturday) Sidewalk Sale April 30th, demonstrating oil painting and selling her oil paintings.
• 2011 Deborah’s oil painting “Camino Manzana” was selected for the cover of the “Hacienda Magazine” (Santa Fean/Parade of Homes) published Spring 2011. 15,000 copies of the magazine were issued. Deborah’s work was featured and advertised in the magazine.
• 2011 Deborah’s donated art work to both the New Mexico Art League and the Las Campanas Community Foundation for their silent auctions, to benefit the remodeling of the NMAL and community outreach projects respectively.
• 2011 Deborah displayed one painting, titled “Common Ground” in the City of Santa Fe juried art show and exhibit at the Community Gallery.
• 2011 Deborah displayed one painting, titled “Cactus Flower” at the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico juried art show, “Land and Light” held at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos.
• 2011 Deborah’s painting “Self Portrait in Gray”, was awarded the New Mexico Art League Award, in addition to a cash prize. Two of Deborah’s oil paintings were accepted into this juried art show co-sponsored by both the Portrait Society of America and the New Mexico Art League, “Facing the Muse” held at the NMAL, in Albuquerque.
• 2011 One of Deborah’s oil paintings was shown at “Encantada”, the juried art show hosted by the Rio Grande Art Association, held this year at the African American Performing Arts Center, Albuquerque.
• 2012 Deborah’s oil painting titled “Bouquet” was shown at Master Works of New Mexico.
• 2012 Deborah’s oil paintings “Apple Dance” and “Flower Dance” were shown in the Fuller Lodge Art Center juried show, “Rhythm and Rhyme.”
• 2012 Las Campanas Community Fund auctioned off one of Deborah’s original prints to raise money for local non-profit organizations.
• 2012 Deborah’s oil painting “Our Common Bond” was shown at the Santa Fe Community Gallery, for the juried art show “Common Bond”.
• 2012 Deborah was the featured artist one Saturday during the Sidewalk Art Series at Patrician Design.
• 2012 Two of Deborah’s oil paintings were shown at the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico 2012 Members Annual Juried Exhibition.
• 2012 Deborah’s oil painting titled “Our Common Ground” was given the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico “Award of Excellence” at the Encantada 2012 Juried Art Show.
• 2012 One of Deborah’s two shown oil paintings, titled “Autumn” (Hyde Memorial Park) was awarded the SourceTek Sponsor Award, in the juried art show “Art in the Parks”, presented by Plein Air Painters of New Mexico.
• 2012 (Since 2003, with the exception of 2004), Deborah has participated in the annual City of Santa Fe Arts Commission Juried art show (originally a Poster Contest), and has had her work shown at City Hall, the Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Community Gallery respectively.
• 2013 Deborah’s painting “Call to Prayer” was accepted into Master Works of New Mexico.
• 2013 For the entire summer, Deborah was chosen as one of 37 artists, by both the Santa Fe Arts Commission and the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, to create an original oil painting of endangered flora (Yerba Mansa), for a special show which celebrates the New Mexico Centennial.

• 2014: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Grazing” was shown at the 2014 Members Annual Juried Exhibition (Plein Air Painters of New Mexico), held at the Gary Kim Gallery in Santa Fe, NM.
• 2014: Deborah was invited to participate in 2014 Plein Air Santa Fe, which included a week of oil painting in and around Santa Fe, followed by a show including two plein air paintings produced that week, at InArt Gallery, Santa Fe, NM.
• 2014: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Jellyroll Tulips” was selected for “The Art of the Flower” show held at the New Mexico Art League.
• 2014: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Camouflage” was accepted into the juried art show “Eureka”, held at The Gallery at Fuller Lodge, Los Alamos, NM.
• 2014: Deborah was one of the represented artists at the “Meet the Artists” event held at Patrician Design, Albuquerque, NM.
• 2014: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Delgado Street” was shown at the Santa Fe Community Gallery, in their annual “Common Ground” juried art show.
• 2014: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Call to Prayer” was awarded third place at the “2014 Face the Muse Biannual Portrait and Figure Exhibition” sponsored by The Portrait Society of America and The New Mexico Art League.
• 2014: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Dulce Musica” was accepted into 2014 Encantada, the juried art show hosted by Rio Grande Art Association, held at the African American Performing Arts Center, Albuquerque.
• 2015: "Deborah's painting titled "Self Portrait in Grey" was accepted into the show "Women's Work" held by both the Tarnoff Art Center and the Maria Saroni Community Art Gallery, on display at the Maria Saroni Community Art Gallery in Rowe, NM.
• 2015: One of Deborah's paintings was accepted into the Rio Grande Art Association Summer Show at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Albuquerque.
• 2015: Two of Deborah's paintings, titled "Flowers, Copper and Silk" and "Fireworks", were accepted into the show, "The Art of the Flower" held at the New Mexico Art League, Albuquerque, NM.
• 2015 to Present: St. James Tearoom in Albuquerque, NM began showing Deborah's oil paintings.
• 2015: Deborah was invited to participate in the 2015 Santa Fe Plein Air Festival. The paint out, took place in and around Santa Fe. Two plein air paintings, which Deborah painted during this week, were shown from June to July, and both sold at the InArt Gallery, 219 Delgado Street, Santa Fe, NM.
• 2015: Two of Deborah's oil paintings were accepted into "Encantada", the annual juried art show, sponsored by the Rio Grande Art Association, held at the Fine Arts Building of the New Mexico Expo.
• 2015: Deborah was invited to participate in the annual juried art show titled "Common Ground" held at the Santa Fe Community Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. Deborah's painting was titled "Uncommon Ground".
• 2015: Deborah's oil painting titled "Petals and Ironwork" was accepted into the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico 2015 Members' Annual Juried Exhibition, held at the Santa Fe Art Collector Gallery, Santa Fe, NM.
• 2015 to 2016: (November to January) Deborah was chosen as one of twenty artists to paint a new self portrait for the "Narcissus" show, held at the Santa Fe Community Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. Deborah's painting was titled " My Self My Roses".
• 2016: Two of Deborah’s oil paintings titled “Lonely Rose” and “Reflections and Roses” were accepted into the New Mexico Art League exhibit themed “The World in a Still Life”.
• 2016: Deborah was one of 55 artists chosen nationally to participate in the 2016 Santa Fe Plein Air Festival, a national juried art show. These nationally selected artists were asked to create new plein air paintings between June 3 and June 8th, then to select two, to show at the InArt Gallery, located in the Canyon Road corridor from June 9 to July 4th. One additional painting by Deborah was exhibited in the Enchanted Skies competition held during the plein air festival.
• 2016: Two of Deborah’s oil paintings, “Leah” and “Folds and Sunflowers” were accepted into Encantada 2016, the Rio Grande Art Association annual juried art show, held at the Fine Arts Bldg, of the Albuquerque Expo. Deborah’s painting titled “Leah” won the Bardean Award of Excellence, a cash award.
• 2016: Deborah’s oil painting “Pure Enchantment” was shown at the Santa Fe Community Gallery, in the exhibit themed “Wish you were Here”.
• 2016: Three of Deborah’s oil paintings were on exhibit at the 8th National Juried Members Show, organized by Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, held at the Sorrel Sky Gallery in Santa Fe, NM.
•2017: Two of Deborah's oil paintings were accepted into the Rio Grande Art Association Juried Art Show “Encantada 2017”. This year, Deborah's oil Painting "Those Eyes" won the Winsor & Newton award. Last year, Deborah's oil painting “Leah” won an award during “Encantada 2016". "Leah" was one of the featured paintings in the advertisement for Encantada 2017.
•2017: Deborah was invited to donate a painting for the auction benefiting the Santa Fe Artists Medical Fund, held at the Yares Art Project, Santa Fe Modern and Rippel Metal in Santa Fe, NM.
•2018: Deborah was accepted into the New Mexico Women in Art Artist Registry, listed in the directory at www.newmexicowomeninthearts.org. Deborah was featured in the Spotlight Gallery. •2018-2019: Deborah was one of 45 artists selected to create a “Torso” for the Exquisite Corpse Exhibit to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the Santa Fe Community Art Gallery. Deborah’s painting titled “Torso” was included in the web advertisement for the show.
•2019: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Garden Party” was shown at the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico 10th National Members Exhibition, held at the Sorrel Sky Gallery, Santa Fe. Sorrel Sky Gallery included Deborah’s painting in their email advertisement of the show, and this painting sold before the show opened. This also led to other commissions arranged by Patrician Design in Albuquerque.
•2019: Deborah’s oil painting titled “Siler’s View” was invited to be shown at the 2019 Fechin Juried Members Small Works Show sponsored by the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, held at the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House, Taos, NM. |
