| I enjoy the fragmented, impressionistic look that I achieve with torn paper and acrylic. But then, I also enjoy building up a very textured abstract surface with all manner of found materials. My paintings are multimedia. They are constructed and textured, glazed, painted and drawn on and sometimes sanded between layers. I believe this approach lends itself to creating a fresh image each time and ultimately it springs the occasional surprise. To me, art is about inventing, about letting your inner voice come out when you least expect it. |
