New Mexico’s dual historic influences have been the Eastern Seaboard and Mexico City. That blend is evident today in the wealth of antique furniture and accessories available in fine shops around the state. Pioneering families included both Anglos and Spaniards, each of whom imported their heirlooms to furnish the fine old adobe residences, many of which are still in existence. Present day antiques dealers continue to emphasize rustic yet sophisticated pieces from all parts of the world.
