Seasoned collectors and beginners love fine prints and drawings for the same reason: they are original yet affordable works of art. The novice can explore and develop an area of interest by acquiring modestly priced pieces, and the major collector can deepen and enrich the significance of a few major pieces.

Drawings are especially interesting for their spontaneity. They frequently serve as the record of a flashpoint of pure creativity. When carried to a high degree of resolution and elegantly finished, they evolve into a complete statement.

Fine prints are created on the stone or plate by the artist. They are never, but never, reproductions of an “original.” The stone or plate holds the original image only until the limited edition has been hand pulled, numbered and signed, and is then canceled by scoring or erasing so that the edition is irrevocably closed.
